A lifetime of confidence in parenting
What will I learn?
When our bodies and minds get overwhelmed, we got into a state of survival. You've probably heard of it: flight, fight, freeze, fawn. This is our bodies' way of keeping us alive when we sense a threat.
Stress, being over-scheduled, frustrations at work or with parenting can seem like threats to our bodies, putting us into a survival state. So, how do we combat that?
With soothing! We have to employ both mental and physical actions to soothe ourselves, and calm our brains and bodies. It's nothing fancy but it can come in handy in moments of meltdown (ours and our kids'). You'll learn about your own and your kids' nervous system and how to know the signs leading up to meltdowns.
